We're here!!!!

Well, almost two weeks since we moved in and nearly unpacked all the boxes. Just the kids stuff still in a turmoil, mainly because we don't have any bedroom furniture for them. That will be arriving April 19th so spare a thought for us that weekend when we will be building flat pack MFI furniture all weekend. Deep joy.

The village of Misterton is lovely. Two minutes from the house we have a footpath across a field which leads to the canal. You can walk that way to both the school and the stables. The girls and I have already been for a lesson there and founds everyone very friendly and the facilities available excellent. The kids started school for the last three days before the Easter break and made a few friends. The school is huge as it used to be a secondary school but now houses the primary children. They have plenty of classrooms for computer and music rooms, lots of space for football and a swimming pool. The hall is great and has a lovely stage so expecting a really good Christmas performance later this year.

Been finding our way around the area looking for DIY shops and furniture shops and curtain shops. You don't realise how much you take for granted until you move to a different area and dont have your internet to help. Doncaster has a great designer outlet and that is about half an hour away. Retford has a rather nice town centre, again half an hour away. And then there is Meadowhall at Sheffield (45 mins away) which we have yet to explore.

Already had lots of visitors.

Alan and Brenda arrived two days after us and then left Indie (their westie) with us while they went on holiday for a few days.

Pip, Tracey and family were next to arrive and we had a very cold outing to "the land of men in green tights". Sherwood Forest is only 45 mins away. Very nice it will be in the summer.

Next to descend were the Hereford Blackman clan who arrived to drop Anita off for a week. Graham, Al and family headed off with the caravan for their holiday but hoping they will be back before too long to spend a weekend with us.

Well, the weather is beautiful so I think that will do for now. Going to have a spot of lunch and then go off on a little outing somewhere. Not sure where but guess we will find somewhere to walk the dog and children.

Going to post a few photos of the house later when I can work out how to do it again........

Take care all.

New House

Let's hope the picture of the new house works. Once we get up there I will take some more pics and post them for you all to see how much decorating we will be doing. Will also get Rebecca to take some pictures of the village so you can get a feel for the place we have moved to.

Hello

The Blackman Family on holiday in Florida.

Hello everyone!

Hello everyone. As the family are moving to Misterton in the very near future I thought I might try my hand at creating a weblog. No idea how to do this so bear with me while I get the whole thing set up and running. The idea, I guess, is that eventually Emily, Rebecca and Andrew will be able to add their own messages and pictures for their friends to see too. How all of this is achieved I have no idea but I reckon it is worth a shot.

Just incase you weren't aware of what was happening to us. Mick's job has been relocated to Hatfield Woodhouse, near Doncaster. We have found a lovely (well it will be when we have finished it) house in a great village in North Nottinghamshire. Been planning and working towards the move now for about 6 months and now it is just a week away. All getting a bit scary but also very exciting.

Ok, short post for the first one but when I have figured out how to add photos I will post again. Take care for now and hope to hear from you all soon.
